Is Wild Fable Fast Fashion? An Expert Breakdown!

Is Wild Fable Fast Fashion? An Expert Breakdown!

Wild Fable is a women’s fashion brand by Target. The stylish tween and teen were taken into account when designing this line. Young consumers view it favorably since it contains products that are both fashionable and reasonably priced.

Launched in August 2018 and introducing swimwear in 2023, this diverse, modern brand is inclusive. For many occasions in life, Wild Fable is made to allow consumers to customize their own looks.

Although Wild Fable shares the same approachable price range as all other in-house lines—items start at $3.99 and go up to $50—it has a design that almost feels like a punk-chic departure from Target's current merchandise.

Additionally, the brand offers a plus-size range with extended sizing in a few styles. Wild Fable mostly assists trend-savvy women looking for reasonably priced clothing to keep fashionable all year long.

Wild Fable offers clothing for every occasion, from weekend attire to workwear.

Interpretation Of The Sustainability Score

If a brand receives a sustainability score of 6 out of 10, it means that it is on the right track to make fashion sustainable.

They are more transparent and responsible than most apparel brands and take massive action to reduce their impacts.

What Are The Sustainability Practices Of Wild Fable?

Wild fable products are mostly made from sustainable materials such as organic cotton and recycled polyester.

Additionally, the brand is dedicated to fair labor policies and making sure that all of its suppliers adhere to strict environmental and safety regulations.

However, some products of wild fable contain synthetic materials so they cannot be considered 100% organic.

Are There Any Ethical Practices Of Wild Fable?

Wild Fable received harsh criticism for not being transparent about its supplier chain when it was launched in 2018. However, Wild Fable has significantly improved transparency over the past few years. It now makes sure that its items are sourced ethically.

The sources of the items and materials that Wild Fable utilizes are now fully disclosed. Each of its products has detailed information.

Target, the parent company of Wild Fable, is dedicated to addressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) concerns. It is actively seeking to prioritize people and the environment over all other considerations and become sustainable.

Given these initiatives, Wild Fable appears to be a fashion retailer that upholds ethical standards and seeks the equal good of all.

Does Wild Fable Ensure They Are Not Using Child Labor?

Target is not transparent enough for the manufacturing sites of wild fable products. It never disclosed its manufacturing countries, in what conditions its products are made, or do they use child labor.

Furthermore, despite Target's statement that "We do not accept underage labor practices. Alongside peer brands, we collaborate closely on industry collaborations and multi-stakeholder projects with the aim of eradicating child labor. In the event that our owned brand's supply chain contains any instances of child labor, we will take all reasonable steps to protect the children involved.”

It has still recently been accused of child labor by The New York Times. They claim that they found products made with child labor in Target.

And in response to allegations of child labor Target stated that “We were deeply troubled by the New York Times report on underage labor, and we're conducting thorough investigations into these claims with the Target supplier named in the report."

But still, it is not clear if the products were actually manufactured by underage labor or if the products were of the brand wild fable.

So we can’t really tell if they are using child labor but being so hidden about the manufacturing of their products, we can still doubt that they might be using child labor.

Does Wild Fable Give Back To The Community?

As Wild Fable is a clothing brand of Target and Target guarantees on its website that they give back to the community, we can say that the brand does care about its community.

Target also states “We’re committed to the communities we serve, so in times of crisis or humanitarian need, we make sure our team members and nonprofit partners have what they need to help communities. Our global supply chain can move quickly to support our stores and guests. And all year round, we provide relief organizations with local donations and funding”

They say that since 1946, they have given 5% of their profits to communities through the Target Foundation, in cash, and products, which today equals millions of dollars a week.

They have also mentioned that nearly 1,900 Target locations and 44 delivery facilities took part in the Great Giftogether in 2022, bringing cheer and solace to local families.

During Christmas, their team members went gift shopping, wrapped the presents, and delivered them to more than 3,500 needy families in the community in collaboration with neighborhood nonprofits.

Does Wild Fable Have Any Animal Welfare Policies?

It is difficult to claim that Wild Fable adheres to Animal Welfare Policies because the brand uses plenty of shearling, fur, leather, suede, and silk in its jackets, boots, pants, and bags.

However, the brand states that all of these materials are faux and none of them is derived from animals.

Furthermore, since Target is renowned for its dedication to sustainability, ethics, and social responsibility, it is difficult to claim that it exploits animals for its products.
